“Hey boy… don’t you sleep!”

I love being a parent!

Yesterday, after work, I was a lazy boy in my “Lazy boy” for a few minutes! I sat down to talk with Sherri, play with “The Ladies”, and close my eyes for a few minutes before ramping up again for the evening “duties.”

Reagan climbed up in my lap and started a conversation. With my eyes closed, I mumbled something back to her. She tapped me on the cheek and said, “Hey boy, don’t you sleep! Talk to me!” I thought I was gonna fall out of my chair laughing!

What a great kid!

This is how I love spending my time at home…

  1. Are kids funny or what?

Levi, our 5 year old, discovered his belly button today. Now, he knows he has one but the boys in PreK have discovered in the locker room after swimming that not all belly buttons are created equal. There are innies, outties, and flatties. His is flat which has drawn contemplation on…why is my friend Jack’s pushed in, can he push it back out, can I push mine in, why did God make mine different…

I remember when Hannah made a similar discovery. She was 2 1/2 years old and had just come out of the tub. Sitting on the edge of her bed across from her dresser drying off, I noticed she was eying both our reflections. Finally, she turned to me and said, “Mommy, I think my boobies are stuck!”. I thought I was gonna fall of the bed laughing…

    (I hope that didn’t offend…)
