I’m a bit reflective as we move closer to “Move Day” (Thursday).
We are…
- Leaving our friends… some of the best friends we’ve ever had
- Leaving a great church
- Leaving one of our dogs (Amos – our male English Mastiff)
- Leaving the first home we’ve owned
- Leaving a secure income (we are tasked with raising our own funds for this venture… a learning experience I’ll write more about later)
We are…
- Going to Cumming – I think this is funny… going to coming!
- Going to Mountain Lake Church for a year to be in a church planting residency with Shawn Lovejoy and David Putman, co-founders and leaders of churchplanters.com.
- Going to uncertainty with a high level of certainty! I’m confident enough in my Leader (Jesus) that I’m willing to follow Him even when I don’t have all of my questions answered.
- Going to fulfill my life’s purpose.

So you’re going to “coming”–that is cool! Checked out MLC–sounds like a great place to worship–it must be huge with all of those pastors!!
How did you decide which dog to leave behind? Had to be a tough decision!!
Wow! Both Cummings and MLC look awesome! I’m sure you will all love it. Good luck on the journey, can’t wait to read about it!
“Going to Cuming”… You’re a goofball. You know that, right? But a goofball that will be very greatly missed.
Sticking with the pun, “glad you are coming to Cumming!”
Had a chance to visit MLC two Sundays ago while on vacation. It was a great experience, and I know that it will be a wonderful environment to grow, flourish and develop.
Burn the ships, baby!
Paul…
We haven’t “spoken” in awhile, but I pray God’s blessings upon your journey.

Man I’ll miss you. This type of decision takes an unyielding faith in God, a faith which your family has, and your faith will take you to your goal.
Paul,
It was so great to see you the other day. I just thought that I’d check out your blog, and I see that tomorrow is moving day. We hope that all goes well for you. Wow, what a tremendous step this must be for you. We pray the Lord’s blessings to you and yours.

You know, God amazes me to the point of tears. I have very good friends who are leaving today for Georgia, to begin the journey of a God-given mission (check it out here). I thought to myself “How appropriate it would be if the BibleGateway v…
