Just some “Waddup” in our lives these days:

• We (Jeff, the other church planter in residence) and I have been spending quite a bit of time praying about and researching locations for potential church plants. I’d love your prayer support as we work through this.

• I’ve been spending a lot of time working on raising funds to support this mission. This includes making calls, writing letters, etc. This whole process is a make or break process. If you aren’t confident of your calling then there’s no way that you could maintain integrity and ask people to fund it.

• We spend several hours every Thursday with our coach, David Putman, working through the various elements of church planting. Currently we are talking about the kind of leader it takes to plant a church. We just started reading and talking through Reggie McNeal’s book Practicing Greatness: 7 Disciplines of Extraordinary Spiritual Leaders.

• We are preparing a list of 4-5 other church plants that we are going to visit over the next few months. A few prospects on my list include…

• I am reading several books that will influence my approach to ministry…

• I am praying and thinking about who I want to launch this new church with me.

So, we’re busy these days, but I’m loving it! I was made to do this!
