Perry has a terrific post called “The Pastor’s Pain” in which he gives the inside scoop on what it’s like to be a pastor.
He talks about the “three pains” of a pastor:
1) The pain from loneliness
2) The pain from criticism
3) The pain from unrealistic expectations
Please read this!
Read it and then go love on your pastor!

Wow, Perry’s post made me cry. Well it didn’t make me cry but writing a note to my own pastor made me cry. I just figure that pastors willingly take on the public eye and all that comes with it. I don’t think about the personal feelings very often.
Add the fourth pain — the pain of separation. Each person in the flock, especially in a smaller congregation, becomes knit to your heart. Then when you are called to leave and minister somewhere else, the ripping apart of two people joined together is painful. I know you have been through this recently Paul! Whenever the member leaves to go to another church, it hurts.
There is also the combination shots; separation pain with criticism pain; separation pain with loneliness pain, etc. The enemy knows whwre we are vulnerable. But we have the whole armor of God to stand against him. Fight on friend!
