Confrontation: a leadership necessity

Patrick Lencioni writes, “When an executive decides not to confront a peer about a potential disagreement, he or she is dooming employees to waste time, money, and emotional energy dealing with unresolvable issues.”

Leaders, if we don’t confront issues in our organization we saddle our people with those same issues!

If we don’t address problems we don’t give our people the permission to do so either.

At some point, leaders, we’ve got to grow a spine and address the issues that stand as obstacles to organizational development.

I’ve heard it put like this, “We run to the problems.”

Leader, if you want to create a healthy organization, one thing you will be bulldogish about is confronting problems, systemic and personnel alike, immediately.
