Living out loud

I believe that life is a journey and that we learn best when we travel with others, out loud.

I learn from you. You learn from me. We watch, talk through, and learn from one another’s mistakes and successes. That is one of the driving philosophies of my life and therefore this blog.

I just read a quote from Gordon McDonald’s book, The Effective Father, that encapsulates my thinking on this subject:

“God often uses models to get his points across. Someone has to open up his life to others and say in various ways, ‘This is where I’m struggling; here I fell flat into failure; here is something I’ve learned and from which I’ve profited.”

I want to live my life with a group of travelers… people who will talk as they walk. I want to learn from people on the way.
