Reading this morning from Experiencing God, I came across these words:
God has far more in store for your life than just to do something for Him. He wants you to experience an intimate love relationship with Him that is real and personal.
Later this morning I encountered Eduardo. I introduced myself to Eduardo the other day at the gym. Eduardo is short, strong, covered in tattoos, and filled with wisdom and love. We talked. He reminded me of the incredible and irreplaceable value of friendship. “Friendship is priceless” he said repeatedly.
As I walked away from this morning I was reminded of the words of Jesus:
‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the other commandments and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.” (Matthew 22:37-40)
At the end of the day, the thing that God wants most from us is relationship. To love and enjoy Him and other people. It’s not rocket science, I know… it’s just a little tough for task-oriented people. Can I get a witness? 😉
