Today at Church180 we did something a little different…
We focused on this verse: The sluggard craves and gets nothing, but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied. (Proverbs 13:4 NIV).
Then we had everyone write their New Year’s resolutions three times: one copy for themselves to post in a visible spot, one copy to be mailed to them in June, and one copy to be mailed to them in December. (We handed everyone two envelopes which they self addressed, put their goals in, and sealed).
We had gave everyone time during service to write out their resolutions around six topics:
- Physical
- Financial
- Emotional
- Relational
- Professional, and
- Spiritual
Everyone who wrote those goals will get what they wrote, as a reminder, in June, and as an evaluation in December!
I can’t wait to hear how well people do this year… because if you haven’t heard… people who write it down are much more likely to actually accomplish it!
Remember this…
The sluggard craves and gets nothing, but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied. (Proverbs 13:4 NIV)
Now go write and accomplish your goals!
I loved our church service today, plus the opportunity to lay hands on the Snyders.
Excellent and practical sermon! I’ll be anxious to hear the June report!
