This is a day. Use it well.

14,024.

That’s how many days I have lived as of this morning. (I know and care about this number thanks to Robert D. Smith’s amazing book and website – check out his website and punch in your birthday to see how many days old you are too).

This morning I read these words from Jesus:

To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance. But from those who are unfaithful, even what little they have will be taken away. (Matthew 25:29 NLT)

Look, I don’t mean to sound greedy or anything like that… but I want more of everything! More life, more money, more friends, more fun, more muscles, more loving, more… more… more…

And Jesus tells us how to get more… care for what you have! Use it well and more will come!

I have lived many days (as proof of this I offer the following pieces of evidence: I have white in my beard and drive a minivan). It’s not hard to flip through my journal and realize, “I have missed lots of opportunities to care well for what I have been given.” The exciting thing here however is that today is a new day!

I can make decisions today that will adjust my income flow tomorrow… the income of love, laughter, wisdom, muscles, money, etc.!

This is a day… my day… I will live it well. How about you?
