Yesterday I did something I’ve never done before. I took Reagan, my 6 year old princess, on a two-mile run with me.
She did great! We only walked twice and stopped once for a fall. Though the pace was a little slower, it was the best time of my life.
As we ran, we talked. We talked about maintaining a healthy lifestyle, friends, and boobs (don’t ask how that one got started or where it went).
As we ran I was overwhelmed at the way we looked at one another. There was a special bond, a memory made that will last forever.
I always tell her that when she gets older we are going to climb a mountain together. Yesterday we added another dream to our list… run a race together.
What happened yesterday was amazing. Amazing.
You are amazing! Keep it up because the kiddos are keeping it in their hearts!
🙂
Hey, I just read this and sent it to a bunch of my “dad” friends who have girls to be an encouragement to them. Thanks for being so “real” and “tangible” in your writing.
