Church180 after re-launch… what’s next?

Well, we’ve officially re-launched! So what’s next?

We’re focusing in on two things:

  • LIFE Groups.
  • Expanding the influence of Jesus locally through our partnerships with Ebinport Elementary and Pilgrims Inn.

LIFE groups

We are currently rethinking our approach to LIFE groups. I’ll write in more detail about this later. For now it is enough to say that we are exploring ways to provide opportunities for everyone to be connected to someone in environments that are fun and helpful.

Expanding the influence of Jesus through our partnerships with Ebinport and Pilgrims Inn.

On March 31st we are having Wednesday Night Live at Pilgrims Inn (in case you don’t know, Pilgrims Inn is a shelter for homeless women and children)! From the outset of this partnership we have been determined that our relationship with Pilgrims Inn and our friends there would NOT be viewed as a “project” but rather an opportunity to develop relationships, make new friends, and help women and children who have fallen on hard times.

We have a pastor, Chaz Maldonado, who is assigned to this venue. He is on site, at Pilgrims Inn, 3-4 days a week and this week is starting a LIFE group there!

At Ebinport Elementary we have launched a program called Watch D.O.G.S. which I have written about previously (you can read about it here). One of the top three responsibilities of our Family Pastor, Alex Miranda, is to serve Ebinport and coordinate volunteer teams to do the same (currently we have three volunteers who regularly serve at the school).

Our intention in both of these venues is to express the love of God in practical ways and thus expand the influence of Jesus.

There are a lot of other things going on under the hood but these are the two most visible actions and the ones that are likely to have the greatest impact!
