This “note from God” made me feel good and strong this morning. . @ourdailybread is a quick devotional that I read first thing every morning. Sometimes it’s like a boring workout that you do because it is good for you. Other times it’s like a workout that leaves you fired up and feeling invincible! Today was one of those days. . I’m grateful to my friend Virgil Dey (currently residing in Heaven) for introducing this habit to me.

It’s a dangerous thing to walk into the “3 Shop” when @gulleyrondell is there. He will challenge you to 101 of something! Today it was pushups. . LT Muro busted out his 101 and took this picture. Gulley busted ‘em out and the Major and I came in at a strong last! 101!!!! #army #ripped3shop #chaplain #avoidgulleyafterlunch

This morning I set out on a six-mile ruck with a 40 lb pack. . At mile four I was feeling strong and began to consider making it a nine-mile ruck. . At mile six I decided to press through. My phone (with my pace tracker) died... so I started the timer on my phone and kept rolling (hence the two pictures). . It was so cold that the water in my drinking system kept freezing! I had to put the nozzle in my shirt to keep it thawed out (much honor to the Soldiers in Fort Drum and Alaska). . At the end of the nine-miler I had kept a 14:55 per mile pace... the Air Assault standard!!!! . I’m so fired up about this!!!! Recovery from arthroscopic surgery is going well and it won’t be long until I’m out going hard with my Soldiers again doing the stuff I love! #army #chaplain #airassault #bullstrike #ruckingandreppingfordudesover40
